"I believe that we are meant to
Live Fully, With Purpose, For All our Days."
This is a community for those of us that are in, or about to be in the Second Half of our lives.
Why a place just for us?
I don't know about you, but many of the challenges that have arisen in this part of life have blindsided me frankly. I believe we have this misconception that as we age, we're supposed to have all the answers and have it all together. Sure, we have acquired a great deal of invaluable wisdom from earlier experiences - and I believe we have a duty to mentor those younger than us where possible, but...
What hits us in this half is often unexpected and unplanned.
For example... aging parents, retirement planning, back to work, guilt and shame, hormones (perimenopause and menopause), empty nest, depression and aging, grandparenting, sleep, nutrition, keeping the brain sharp, mindset, divorce, makeup for changing skin, aging gracefully, emotional eating/overeating, dementia/alzheimers, faith, relationships... just to name a few ;)
This is a safe place to ask questions, find resources, as well as a place to read and hear about life experiences that you may currently be going through or will soon.
No complaining, or "woe is me" pity parties. This is a place for
AND EVEN SOME POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.
And, as a side note, you will obviously get my faith-based bias, as my God is a huge part of my life and if I didn't have Him to go to daily, I can't even imagine how much more difficult it would be.
Made for More
I believe our second half can be just as good as, or even better than our first half - albeit different.
We can thrive, be full of joy, be content, have fun,
serve others, do good self-care, be full of gratitude and love fully.
Now that's how I want to end my second half on earth - until I arrive in my Father's arms in heaven.
